Some of the sites do not seem risky at all and they treat topics such as catering, deer hunting, figure skating, legal services, and buying electronics. The most common threat found in the Dirtiest list is Malware – especially viruses – followed by security risks and browser exploits. Just clicking or visiting a site with all these threats will put your computer at risk of being infected. The worse of all, identity thieves will be able to access your personal and financial information.
Research made by Symantec shows that online threats are increasing and evolving as cybercriminals find new more ways to steal assets, identity and money. The sites on the Dirtiest list have an average of 18,000 threats per site while 40 of the sites have in excess of 20,000 threats.
