Meeting in English is one of the most common ways of doing busines around the world. The English language has been growing in popularity over the decades especially among businessmen. Today it has clearly become the lingua franca for all business that is conducted between parties of different nations and cultures. With globalization, no business can expand internatioinally without engaging their partners and clients in English. Companies that do not train key employees in English language speaking skills, will limit their sales and marketing to their home market, thus limiting their profit potential. This in extremely limiting and with the entire world becoming interconnected with the internet, it may not even be possible to have a successful business without expanding internationally. Fortunately there are many courses available that teach English with an emphasis on what needs to be known to conduct business. These courses are much shorter than traditional English courses and have an emphasis on the practical language component. They teach vocabulary and phrases that a businessman needs when conducting business and meeting people face to face.

Japanese is an interesting and useful language to learn. As a popular language spoken in the world today, Japanese has its level of difficulties and systematic stumble blocks. Japanese has so many linguistic systems and properties. One of them is the system to mark the time. In English, we recognize this similar system as tenses.

There are two tenses known in Japanese: past and present. For expressing the future, the Japanese language uses the present tense with an adverb of time. These two tenses are used differently to express whether the sentence is positive or negative. Not like English, in which the verbs are sometimes irregular in past and present tense, in Japanese you just to change the final sound of a present verb with certain sound to change it into a past verb. This also applies in giving answers, which the cluster sounds of the answers determine whether it is affirmative or negative, past or present. Therefore, in Japanese, the sound plays an important role here.
